What to expect during your visit

We work much like a human emergency room. When you arrive, one of our trained veterinary team will triage your pet and let you know what to do first.

The emergency exam fee is $110. After a thorough exam, the doctor will recommend the best treatment for your pet. You'll be asked to approve the plan and pay a deposit before treatment begins.

If your pet needs critical care...

You may be faced with unexpected decisions that must be made quickly. If your pet appears in critical condition, immediate stabilization will be recommended. Stabilization efforts may include procedures such as CPR, oxygen therapy, IV catheterization, bloodwork, x-rays and more. Stabilization efforts require a minimum deposit of $400.

During this time, our medical team will make every effort to stabilize and comfort your pet. When the doctor feels it is safe to leave your pet for a brief period of time, he or she will speak with you about your pet's condition and recommend the best treatment. If, for any reason, you do not wish to proceed with the recommended treatment or you cannot afford treatment, please let one of our team know immediately.

Hospital policies

Visiting hours

You're welcome to call about your pet at any hour. If you want to visit, plan your visits between 10:00am and 10:00pm. For the health of our patients, we allow no more than 2 adults and 1 child per visit. Visits are limited to 15 minutes per four hour period. Because visiting takes place in the hospital treatment area, we may need to limit or interrupt your visit.

Patient release

Any remaining balance will be due at checkout. We accept cash, all major credit cards, CareCredit and check payments via Telecheck. Please arrive no later than 7:30am with plans for transporting your pet from BMPEC to your regular veterinary clinic for continued care. Patients picked up after 7:30am may incur late fees or additional hospitalization charges.
